Queensland Scrapbooking Retreats next weekend retreat is being held on 3-6 May in Kilcoy, about and hour and a bit from Brisbane.  Kilcoy is a lovely little country town and the atmosphere adds to a wonderful relaxing weekend.

These retreats are great value with everything included (accommodation, all meals, class & kit, challenge kits, goodie bag, demos etc).  Accommodation is motel rooms - no bunk beds here or dorm style rooms!!

Scrap FX produces high quality laser cut products for worldwide distribution in the Scrapbooking and Art and Craft industries. We have an exciting opportunity for talented scrappers, off the page artists and card makers to join the 2013 Scrap FX Design Team. We are looking for artists of all styles – graphic, mixed media, traditional, shabby chic, artsy, contemporary…
As a Scrap FX Design Team Member you will have access to the latest and greatest in chipboard designs, be part of creating new trends and ideas in the market place and have fun playing with the huge range of Scrap FX products.

REQUIREMENTS

• Be available to participate in the Design Team for a 12 Month term.
• Submit a minimum of 3 Projects per month to Scrap FX, including at least 2 Layouts.
• Supply a basic description of at least one project (monthly), either highlighting a particular technique or idea that is represented in the project, or a step by step instruction.
• Applicants must have a current Blog on which to post their projects and allow Scrap FX to post projects and techniques on the Scrap FX Website/Blog.
• Applicants must be able to photograph and present projects in an aesthetically pleasing, web friendly format.
• Scrap FX Design Team Members must be exclusive to Scrap FX as a chipboard manufacturer. You may be a member of other Design Teams; however you must not be a member of a team for a competing chipboard manufacturer or distributor.
• Local and international applications welcome.

• As a Scrap FX Design Team Member you will be supplied with a generous New Release Product Kit and three products of your choice from our existing range each month. Plus Design Team Members may purchase any of our unique and exciting products at a discount price.

HOW TO APPLY

• Email submissions to scrapfx@netspace.net.au by 1st March, 2013. Please put ‘Design Team’ in the subject line and include 6 projects (at least 4 Layouts) in your submission. Show us what you can do with chipboard. Please keep total file size to below 3MB.
• Please include your name, postal address, contact phone number, email address, and a link to your blog/website address.
• Tell us a little about yourself and why you would like to the part of the Scrap FX Design Team.
• Briefly describe your artistic style, inspiration and experience (how long have you been scrapping?)
• List any companies or businesses you have designed for in the past or with whom you work currently (you do not need to have any experience on a Design Team to apply).
• List any projects you have had published in mainstream media; for example in Scrapbook Memories Magazine (you do not need to have been published to apply).

Applications close March 1st, 2013 and we will announce our next Scrap FX Design Team on the Scrap FX Blog on March 15^th 2013.

Multi-Photo Sketch Challenge

Multi-Photo Scrapbook Layouts is running another Sketch Challenge this month.  This time it is a Sketch Challenge from Becky's Page Maps and there are two pieces of criteria to it being:-

• The subject of the layout is to be "About Me", and
• 3 things about you that make you "YOU"

We always seem to scrap about everyone else and forget about ourselves, so it's good to be able to set the focus on us now and then. Here is the sketch:-



 

 

Also to keep with the theme of the blog, you must have at least 3 photos on your layout.  We are looking forward to seeing what your creations will be and don't forget we have a prize voucher for the winner being a $10 voucher from A2Z Scraplets, manufacturers of some great chipboard designs.

12 hour scrapbooking crop day - North Brisbane

Queensland Scrapbooking Retreats is holding another 12 hour scrap day at Kallangur (North Brisbane) on Saturday 24 November commencing at 10am.
All meals (M/T, lunch, A/T and dinner) will be provided and the cost for the day will be $50.
A $10 deposit will be required at the time of booking.

SCRAPZ.BIZ CHALLENGE COMPETITION

Scrapz Do or Die

In September/October we will be running a new fun competition called Do or Die at Scrapz.biz.

It is mandatory that you will sign up for this one.

Every week you will be given one challenge to complete plus a number (eg #4). You have to upload by a specific date, however the gallery will not be public. You will not be able to view it until after the closing date and you will not know how many people have uploaded before you.  If your entry is that week's particular upload number (eg #4), you will be out of the comp.  However, should someone not upload by the due date, they will be automatically disqualified and there will be no sudden death for any of the other contestants that week.
You may enter two layouts per week to avoid sudden death, however, you only have one extra life.  This means that if you have to rely on your second entry one week to survive, you cannot use that life line again.

First round starts on Monday, September 3, 2012.
Sign-up closes at midnight on Sunday, September 2, 2012.

The prize for the last scrapper standing will be a $100 prize pack.

GREEN TARA DESIGN TEAM CALLOUT

We are inviting applications from anyone who would be interested in joining the “Green Tara” Design Team.  If you love using flowers, ribbons, lace etc in your scrapbooking and papercrafting, then we would love to hear from you.  The term will be for 6 months, beginning 1st October 2012.  Successful applicants will commit to 2 projects per month, including tips and techniques as part of their post.  As well, you will need to have, and also maintain & update, an active personal blog and facebook page.   In return for your commitment to the Green Tara DT, you will receive a generous amount of product to use.  So if you think you are up for the challenge and would like to be part of our team, we would love to hear from you.  Please send us:  1.     Three recent layouts/projects that show us your style and talent and what you have to offer. 12 HR SCRAPBOOKING SUPER CROP - NORTH BRISBANE

A 12 hour Scrapbooking Super Crop will be held at Burpengary (North Brisbane) on Saturday 1 September, commencing at 10am and going through until 10pm.

The crop will be held at the King Street Players Theatre at the Community Hall on the corner of Old Bay Road and Maitland Road, Burpengary.

The cost of the day will be $50 and includes all meals (morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner).  Any special dietary requirements will be accommodated.  A shop will be available for any purchases you wish to make during the day.

SCRAPBOOKING RETREAT IN S.E. QUEENSLAND

NEXT RETREAT 12 – 14 OCTOBER 2012

NOOSAVILLE, SUNSHINE COAST

Have you ever wanted to just get away with a group of like-minded crafters on a weekend to spend a whole weekend scrapbooking? Come along and join us on one of our awesome weekends away, scrapping and working on your papercraft and off the page projects at great venues with delicious food, comfortable and affordable accommodation and lots of laughs from fellow crafters. All venues are in the South East Queensland area.

The next Retreat is scheduled for 12-14 October 2012 at the Ivory Palms Resort in Noosa, Sunshine Coast commencing on Friday afternoon at 2pm through to Sunday afternoon at 2pm. A whole 2 days to scrap!! Numbers are capped at 28 so please book soon to avoid disappointment.

Included in the cost will be a great class with Cathy Cafun including full kit on Saturday. Workshop and product demonstrations/promotions are conducted over the weekend, learning new techniques and gaining heaps of ideas and inspiration. There will be Challenges with great prizes to be earned by the winners; lucky door prizes, raffles and a few surprises. A generous scrap pack is distributed upon your arrival and includes Challenge materials. A shop is available to purchase your basic supplies. Pamper packages also available should you want to take a break from scrapping...and why wouldn’t you...we all love to be pampered!
